Come preannunciato da Canonical mediante il seguente comunicato stampa in lingua inglese, è disponibile la versione 7.10 della distribuzione Linux based Ubuntu: si tratta di un rilascio in grande stile poichè sono state pubblicate quattro edizioni dell'OS, ovvero Ubuntu Server, Desktop, Kubuntu and Edubuntu, tutte liberamente scaricabili.

In accordo alle dichiarazioni di Canonical, Ubuntu 7.10 in tutte le sue varianti rappresenta il miglior software - Open Source e gratuito - disponibile oggi su una piattaforma in grado di garantirne l'usabilità in un ambiente stabile e robusto.

Ubuntu 7.10 è disponibile in pacchetti ISO dedicati rispettivamente ai processori Intel e AMD in architettura x86 (Pentium, Celeron, Athlon e Sempron), ai processori Intel e AMD in architettura x64 (Core e AMD64) e ai processori UltraSPARC di Sun.
